ShowNotePad For Mac

The current desktop release does not support Intel Macs.

- iOS 15.1 or later;

- distributed through Apple's App Store.

Network And Firewall Requirements
Permit outbound HTTPS over TCP port 443 to the following verified ProEventTools hosts:
shownotepad.proeventtools.com- Production sign-in, shared synchronization, audio upload, transcription and organization workflows, desktop update metadata, application updates, and release downloads.
proeventtools.com- Public purchasing, owner account, support, system requirements, and policy pages.
The iPhone Companion is installed and updated through Apple's App Store. Managed devices must retain the normal Apple App Store connectivity required by the school's Apple deployment configuration. Apple controls its delivery infrastructure, so this guide does not publish an unverified static list of Apple CDN domains.
Do not add development, preview, internal-service, or obsolete product hosts to the production allowlist.
Microphone Permissions
Microphone access is optional for ShowNotePad. Typed notes and the shared production notebook remain available without it. Audio recording and transcription require a microphone. Many teams use ShowNotePad Companion on iPhone as their primary audio-capture device.
Managed Macs
Grant ShowNotePad microphone permission only for users who will record audio on the Mac. Users can still type, edit, organize, complete, print, and synchronize notes when microphone access is denied.
Managed iPhones
ShowNotePad Companion requires iPhone microphone permission to record audio notes. It keeps pending clips locally when connectivity is interrupted and retries upload when connectivity returns.
Mac Installation And Updates
Managed Macs may require administrator approval to install or replace ShowNotePad in /Applications. Automatic desktop updates may also request administrator credentials when device ownership or MDM policy prevents the current user from replacing the installed app.
If an in-app update is blocked by local policy, download the current signed and notarized installer and deploy it through the school's approved administrator or MDM workflow.
Mosyle And Other MDM Systems
Technology departments can use their normal managed-application workflow to distribute the signed and notarized ShowNotePad application. The current public release is a disk image containing the application; Pro Event Tools does not currently publish a dedicated PKG installer.
- Test installation on a small managed-device group first.
- Place the application in
/Applicationsusing the school's approved workflow. - Confirm whether the local policy requires administrator approval for first install and later replacement.
- If local policy blocks the in-app updater, distribute the next signed and notarized release through MDM.
Accounts, Roles, And Subscription Access
Users authenticate with ShowNotePad production-team credentials. Access is controlled by the user's account, assigned role, permissions, and the production team's subscription entitlement.
Production-team owners and administrators manage team invitations and roles inside ShowNotePad. The purchasing owner manages subscription and billing from the ProEventTools Owner Account page.
Data Retention
Current ShowNotePad education subscriptions retain uploaded audio for up to 10 days and production notes for up to 365 days from the note's server creation date. Authorized deletion and the published policies may result in earlier erasure. Account, subscription, security, legal, and operational records may be retained longer as described in the applicable policies.
